Monocryl Monofilament Suture, Violet, 27", Size 3-0 is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of poliglecaprone 25. Designed for use in soft tissue approximation, it provides a smooth passage through tissues and induces minimal tissue reaction. Its monofilament structure reduces drag and eliminates fraying during suturing, enhancing surgical precision and patient outcomes.

This suture retains 60–70% of its original tensile strength after one week of implantation. Gradual strength reduction continues over time, with substantial loss by the second week, making it ideal for tissues that heal rapidly. Complete absorption of the suture occurs within 91 to 119 days via hydrolysis, leaving no residual foreign material in the body.

The violet coloration ensures improved visibility during placement in surgical fields. The suture features a taper point needle that allows for smooth penetration of delicate tissue without cutting, making it suitable for a variety of soft tissue procedures. The 27-inch strand provides ample length for general use.
